Minka Gillian exhibition preview...

The organic glass-like sculptural forms Minka Gillian painstakingly creates are at once reminiscent of sea creatures, sex organs from plants and animals and imagined alien life forms, yet upon closer inspection reveal a woven structure, elegant in its simplicity and marvellous in execution.

Immaculately hand woven fishing line is an unlikely sculptural medium the artist employs with great sensitivity and skill, and the resulting sculptures have an ironically organic presence.
