Artist Statement

"As many of you already know, I create very short videos in response to direct world encounter, urged by the moment and shaped by the incidental. Footage and sound are by and large - as is the case here, caught on my mobile phone, and edited later using the basic editing suite that comes with macs. They are low res - and not meant for enlarged screening.

I treat YT as a form of shared public space and in that sense they are a type of art in public interventions. They seem to find their own audience over time.

They're not premeditated things, although an idea may gel in a given moment and be revisited later. In such cases the unfolding is still heavily dependent on the incidental and actuality of surfing that new moment.

I hope it carries something for you ..."
