From 25 October – 1 December 2012, Performance Space at Carriageworks will be launching a new festival of contemporary art, performance, dance and debate on gender and sexuality in contemporary Australia.

Opening the festival is the Sexes Exhibition, featuring 17 contemporary artists, including Artereal represented, Liam Benson.

"We explore queerness and straightness, sexuality in sporting culture, masculinity in the domestic sphere, diaristic sexual encounters, feminist struggles, and sexual difference across and between cultures. We will explore the straightjacket categories of male/female, straight/gay and masculine/feminine," said Performance Space Co-Directors, Bec Dean and Jeff Khan, with artist Deborah Kelly.
