Key works from Anne MacDonald's 2005-2006 series of photographs entitled Silk, are currently on display at the National Gallery of Australia.
Anne MacDonald‘s Silk series of photographs reflects the expressive power of fabrics in art; in particular their associations with Renaissance painting and with ancient myths. “Silk” is reminiscent of splendidly decadent Renaissance religious robes, funeral shrouds and the feeling of sensuous entrapment created by bed sheets.
