This week looks set to be a busy week for the Sydney arts community, with the 5th Annual International Conference on the Arts in Society beginning this Thursday, just down the road from Artereal at Sydney College of the Arts.
The International Conference on the Arts in Society is held annually in different locations around the world in conjunction with major global arts events such as Documenta12 (2007) and the Venice Biennale (2009). In 2010 the conference coincides with the 17th Biennale of Sydney, The Beauty of Distance: Songs of Survival in a Precarious Age.
Artereal is excited to announce that Artereal artist Dr Anna Sabadini has co-written a paper with Dr Ann Schilo which will be presented as part of the conference this Friday. Entitled Transforming Viewpoints: To mix metaphors in the field of painting, their paper seeks an understanding of the various dimensions of artistic transformations using an interdisciplinary perspective.
We would like to wish both Anna Sabadini and Ann Schilo the best of luck with their presentation!
Anna Sabadini's solo exhibition Home can be seen at Artereal Gallery this September.
