Artereal Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Jess MacNeil at this year’s Melbourne Art Fair 2014.
Held at the Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne, between Wednesday 13 and Sunday 17 August 2014, The Art Fair will showcase the best in contemporary Australian and international art, with only leading commercial galleries invited to exhibit.
Jess MacNeil is a multi-award winning, London based Australian artist working across media but predominantly in experimental painting, moving image, and installation. The sensibility of these principal art forms and the way they behave, the structure of their language, is influential and evident through her practice, including the ‘hybrid’ works that cross over between painting and object.
Preoccupied with the dynamics of space, MacNeil’s work is informed by such esoteric concepts as 'the shape of between'; the geometry and interstices of our individual vantage points - be they physical, perceptual or psychological, and as manifested in the context of place, of time and of change.
