Carla Hananiah, who won the John Coburn prize for Emerging Artists (2011)  has had her landscape painting entitled Purify (2009), featured in the most recent publication of Belle Magazine.

Hananiah's oil paintings on board, are a dream-like representation of the New Zealand and more recently, the Australia landscape.  Her bravura moody paintings celebrate the spectacle of elemental forces, the brute presence of volcanic masses, the purity and intensity of light.
