Artereal Gallery congratulates artist Stevie Fieldsend, who was this week announced a finalist in the prestigious 2015 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging).
The Fellowship, presented by Artspace and Arts NSW, is Artspace’s key exhibition for profiling the dynamism and breadth of emerging contemporary artistic practice in NSW and continues its commitment to supporting artists through curatorial development and dialogue.
Stevie Fieldsend was one of twelve finalists for the Fellowship and joins other artists including Lucas Davidson, Heath Franco, Emily Hunt, Biljana Jancic, Leahlani Johnson, Mason Kimber, Sarah Mosca, Tom Polo, Nicola Smith, Angela Tiatia and Justine Varga.
The exhibition this year is curated by Artspace Executive Director Alexie Glass-Kantor in collaboration with Artspace Curator Sebastian Goldspink, who will work closely with each artist to further develop their work ahead of the presentation in November.
The exhibition of work from the finalists is set to open at Artspace on Thursday 12 November, where one of the twelve finalists, Arts NSW will award one artist the Fellowship, valued at $30,000
The NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) exhibition is one of the most well-attended and anticipated events in Artspace’s annual exhibition program. Showcasing the best of emerging practices in NSW, the exhibition is a critical platform for developing intelligent dialogue around the work of these twelve artists.
